Getting started with MyCare.scot
To use MyCare.scot, you need a verified ScotAccount.
ScotAccount allows you to access public services online safely and securely. It is run by the Scottish Government.
You will first create a ScotAccount, then you will connect it to MyCare.scot.
If you already have a ScotAccount, you may need to finish connecting it to MyCare.scot.

What you need to do
Your ScotAccount needs to connect to MyCare.scot to create a profile. To do this:
- Create or sign in to your ScotAccount
- Verify your identity with a valid photo ID or by answering some personal security questions
- Select share your details to create your MyCare.scot profile
You may be asked to sign in multiple times to keep your information secure.
What you will need
To create your ScotAccount and verify your identity, you will need:
- an email address
- a phone number
- a valid photo ID
- access to a mobile phone, tablet or computer with a camera
You will also need access to a camera on your mobile phone, tablet, or computer.
If you do not have a photo ID, you can still verify your identity with ScotAccount. You will need to answer some personal security questions.
